Nonlinear Fiction

I have a story inside my head that is written from multiple character perspectives, and changes and adapts to the choices you make - totally seamlessly, with a lot more plot and continuity than the choose your own adventure books so popular in the eighties.

In fairness to those books, what they did was ahead of their time, storytelling that unravels at the click of a link wasn't possible then. And the tools to make it didn't exist.

In fact, for me, they still don't.

In my writing section I talk about StoryMill and how it "thinks like I write". I need that for nonlinear writing. I want to paint, I have a picture in my mind and sketched out in places, and and I know exactly what type of paintbrush it will require. Unfortunately no one makes that brush.

I can't do this without the right tools to control the layers. Nonlinear fiction I can do, and lucky enough for me, I've been able to design the software I need, but only design. As in I know exactly what I want it to do. I know exactly how I want it to look. But I have to fucking teach myself to code for apple first.

How am I doing on that?

Yeah, I haven't even had the spoons to think about it. This website reboot took over a year.

I really need to get back to this, in an alternate universe where time is an easier thing.

Why the fuck do they put case sensitive crap in the first section of the book and not explain the language is case sensitive? This is supposed to be entry-level! God dammit this is making my head hurt. I need to lie down.

Extreme Beginner.

It's going to be a long time.
